About Us

Born to be Green

Working and preserving

We are convinced that the strategy of today should be to improve the future of tomorrow. All the teams at JVD strive actively to think of everything and to make a real difference. From design to manufacturing, transport to use and customer service to recycling, we know that each detail counts.

usp3

Eco-design

Kettles which come in smaller sizes help to reduce water usage, minibars fitted with a heat absorption system which generates no greenhouse gases, and trays made of FSC certified wood (from sustainably managed forests).

usp6

Raw materials and partners

Whenever possible, we prioritize partners located as close as possible to our production unit so as to reduce the environmental impact of our transport. For years, we have been striving to ensure that expertise endures and so encourage our suppliers’ capacity for innovation. Out of concern for our social impact, we work with associations from the social and solidarity economy.

usp8

Manufacturing

All our waste is sorted and collected before being sent to a treatment and recycling centre. For example, we reuse our suppliers’ cardboard boxes for our shipments, and we grind used paper and then use it as wedges for our shipped products. What about the rest? It is recycled or reused by other companies in the region.

usp5

Logistics

Our packaging is designed with a twofold objective: to protect the integrity of the transported goods and to serve as an installation diagram. These simple, sensible optimizations further reduce our carbon footprint.

usp2

Combating planned obsolescence

At JVD, our products are designed and tested to be repairable and to repair them. Our appliances’ spare parts are available for 10 years. Quality products meant to work and be used for the long term.

Director of JVD Asia Subsidiary
Jude

A strong team spirit is what makes JVD special.

My main missions are to expand and deepen interactions with JVD’s international strategic partners. A big part of my job is understanding the evolving needs of our clients in an ever-changing and fast-paced market. Only then, can we offer products that will best match with the current demands and realities.

Obviously, human contact plays a big part in being successful in my missions. I take the most pleasure in developing long-lasting friendships with my clients. Forming personal bonds in professional interactions with my colleagues is also key. I work in close relations with my Marketing and Design counterparts and the Nantes-based teams of JVD.

A strong team spirit is what makes JVD special. JVD Asia represents a collaborative effort to bridge Asian culture and a French heritage and know-how. This versatility is part of our strength.

If I had to summarise JVD in one word, I’d choose « adaptable ». In the hospitality industry, which is continuously setting new trends, JVD has successfully adapted our product lines and delivery means over the past 30 years to serve this market.

Director of JVD Mexico subsidiary
Frédéric

Describe JVD in one word? Manufacturer! That’s our strength.

I am in charge of managing the JVD Mexico subsidiary.
My role involves expanding the business and promoting JVD in North and South America, and the Caribbean.

What do I love about my job? Discovering new countries and new cultures, and adapting to support customers. We need to introduce them to the JVD brand and make them like it. But that’s almost a given! (laughter) JVD is a friendly-sized company. This enables us to work closely with our customers and respond much faster.

So if I had to describe JVD in one word? Manufacturer! That’s our strength. And that makes us stand out, even on the other side of the Atlantic!

Designer
Jean-Guy

What products do I prefer? Made in France ones!

I have been part of the JVD journey for 13 years now, first as an intern then a few years later as a designer. What is my job? Product concept and design. I bring a creative approach to projects while also considering technical and budgetary issues. What products do I prefer? Made in France ones! I enjoy the challenge of finding the best secrets for producing Made in France products while remaining prudent and tailoring them to market needs. The aim is to surprise and satisfy users. What do I like the most about product development? Creative research. I clear my thoughts and free myself from any constraints. I may start from a cloud and end up with a material or start from a pirate ship and end up imagining the door of a safe. (In fact, Jean-Guy designed the Copt’Air hand dryer nozzle one Sunday while watching his kids play with a garden hose!) So if I had to describe JVD in one word? Ambition, because of our motivation to move forward.

Assistant Director, Spanish subsidiary
Olga

JVD’s true strength lies in our service and ability to respond quickly.

I am in charge of the finance as well as the sales part of the Spanish subsidiary. I mainly work with the hospitality sector and regularly meet with retailers to give product training. I also visit our customers in order to get quality feedback on the ground. Customer contact is what drives me in my role: it’s fundamental. What do I like about JVD? Not just one thing, but instead an accumulation of well thought out and well done things. Our products are different from what you can find on the market, thanks to our in-house design team. Our products are pretty and high quality. But JVD’s true strength lies in our service and ability to respond quickly.

Communication Officer
Juliette

A vast toolbox to dig into and use!

My job involves shining the spotlight on the JVD brand. In short, this means creating content to raise the company’s profile. We use physical media with catalogues, product flyers and other sales tools, and digital media with our website and social network presence. We also attend trade shows.

What do I like the most about my job? The challenge to shine the spotlight on a Nantes company with an international reach! Spreading the word about our products and expertise, and about the people who have made JVD what it is today. I’m lucky to work alongside the company’s entire value chain at the Nantes site. For me, this is a vast toolbox to dig into and use! So if I had to pick one word to describe JVD, I’d say surprising. The company is surprising in its history, ideas and blend of two completely opposite worlds that actually form a perfect harmony.

After Sales Service Agent
Marina

One word to describe JVD? I’d say satisfaction!

What is my job? My job is to process the after sales service requests by answering calls and emails from our customers. After we take delivery of and identify a device, we repair it. We also provide advice to customers and salespeople about the technical side of choosing a product to suit their needs. What makes working in a company like JVD interesting is the fast pace. In only three or four days, the repaired product leaves our manufacturing site. One word to describe JVD? I’d say satisfaction! I have job satisfaction, I enjoy working for the company and I like ensuring customer satisfaction. Customers often thank us for our efficiency. We keep them informed about our progress on the repairs and notify them when the product leaves our warehouse. Want to hear a funny story? We often get panicked calls after our Stell’Air hand dryer is installed. “It’s not working!” So I ask them to check that it is switched on and, if so, to call me back if it is still not working. Strangely, nobody ever calls me back… (laughter)

Marketing and Communication Manager
Simon

Ambition. Because of our desire to innovate and push the boundaries!

My job involves identifying our markets’ expectations so we can design products to meet their needs. In my role, I am involved in every step of the product’s life – from its birth to its dying breath. In both the hospitality and hygiene sectors, I am the guardian of our brand image. We design marketing tools for our sales team and various media for use in promoting our company. What adds depth to my job is the variety of markets and geographic areas. I am lucky to work in a manufacturing company as I get to see the finished product as it leaves our production lines, having designed it only a few metres away. And we have all the benefits of a small company, with close relationships, while also extending to other countries. That makes for a truly interesting ‘playground’. In fact, before joining JVD, I’d never had so many friends send me photos of toilets! (laughter) So if I had to describe our company in one word? Ambition. Because of our desire to innovate and push the boundaries.

Export Dispatch Officer
Jennifer

Describe JVD in one word? Togetherness!

Having worked on the manufacturing line, in restocking and in incoming goods, I am now in charge of preparing orders for the export side of the business. The export team sends me a picking slip and I pick the products in our warehouse. I put them on pallets or in parcels so they can be sent to the carrier.

Having previously worked in various manufacturing roles, I have a fresh perspective and can more easily provide solutions. I understand the constraints so it is easier for me to give a helping hand when required.

What do I like about JVD? Working with the guys… No, just kidding! Not getting bored as every day is different. I like having contact with others in the company as well as with the carriers. Because we are an SME, communication is easier. We simply call each other or chat through the window! If I had to describe JVD in one word? Togetherness!

Manufacturing Agent
Manuella

Launching new products gives us a buzz!

I’ve been at JVD for 12 years now – almost 13! I work in three manufacturing areas and am also in charge of manufacturing display stands for the trade shows. That’s what I prefer doing. It involves both the products I have just made and making something that will help to sell them. And I can do it while making the display stand pretty and balanced! Describe JVD in one word? Innovation. Launching new products and updating others gives us a buzz and makes them more fun to manufacture! (If you want to give Manuella a treat, she eats one block of chocolate every day! But not just any chocolate. Depending on her mood, it can be plain dark or milk Côte d’Or chocolate – without hazelnuts!).

Manufacturing Agent
Nelly

My job in simple terms? Making products from start to finish.

I have been part of the JVD journey for 17 years now, first as a temp and then as a fixed-term employee. My work involves the 1 and 2 manufacturing of the Zephyr hand dryer, blower, Crystal, hair dryer and mirrors. My job in simple terms? Making products from start to finish. The work becomes automatic at a certain point and you become comfortable with it. Having the equipment in due time, I know what I need to do and the day takes care of itself. So I have my little routine. In the morning I listen to the radio. So sometimes if you walk past and hear me laughing to myself, I’m not crazy! I’m simply listening to a funny show. (laughter)

Manufacturing Agent
Laetitia

This means change for us too and we see the product through new eyes.

I make all the products, from hand dryers to hair dryers and even mirrors. But I have a soft spot for the Zephyr. It is simple yet complex. There are lots of little components to assemble with the card, resistors, etc. Once you’ve got the dexterity, it’s simple! Here at JVD, we all know each other. It’s easy to communicate. I often put my questions to Eric in Quality Assurance and Olivier in R&D in order to understand the ‘why’. Why do we put certain components here and not there, or why is this step in the method? It’s important to understand why you do something. For me, the word that best represents JVD is innovation. When we’re not innovating to create a new product, we are altering or improving the features of an existing one. This means change for us too and we see the product through new eyes.

Technical Manager
Olivier

Seeing a device operate that only a few months before was just a concept

I oversee product development, quality control, compliance and industrialisation. This means I am in contact with everyone involved in the process, from concept to manufacture, as well as those on the ground through interactions with the sales and after-sales service teams. What I love most about my job is the excitement of seeing a device operate that only a few months before was just a concept. I like to be there when the manufacturing line first produces a new product. So if I had to describe JVD in one word? Customers! Customers are first and foremost in our minds, from the concept stage to the time we install the product at their site. I feel truly involved as I am there for every stage in the product’s life. Once, I surprised myself by shouting in frustration inside my car after coming out of a complex development run where we could not find a solution. The Exp’air hand dryer’s capacitance sensor was still not working. Then only a few months later, we lodged the patent for the concept.

Manufacturing Agent
Delphine

If I could only make one product, it would be the Paggio hairdryer. I love it!

I have worked at JVD for five years now, in all of the manufacturing workshops, but if I could only make one product it would be the Paggio hairdryer. I love it! It is simple and fast-paced to make. I don’t think I have much patience so this product suits me perfectly! Here at JVD, we can easily communicate between the manufacturing and office teams. Communication is straight forward and everyone is here in Nantes. It’s convenient for us. I’m originally from Turkey and don’t know much French vocabulary. This is the first time I’ve worked in a French company. I regularly have to look up the translation of some words I don’t know and I note them down so I can learn them. So when someone tells a joke, I laugh but after everyone else has laughed (and I’ve translated it from French to Turkish).

Warehouse Officer
Anthony

What I love about my job is its fast pace!

I take care of preparing orders for France and export. As soon as we receive the purchase order, I issue the delivery slip. Next, the products are picked, packed on pallets or in parcels, and delivered to the carrier. We generally prepare orders in time for them to be shipped the next day. We have a small team of four people responsible for dispatching orders. There is a great atmosphere and it is easier to communicate with other teams than if we only did it by email. When I started at JVD six years ago, I didn’t know how to turn a computer on. I’d only experienced computers in small doses. Today, I issue delivery slips and track orders using our internal software. What I love about my job is its fast pace!

France Sales Administration Officer
Maryse

Even at the top of Mt Blanc I can find a JVD hand dryer!

My job? In short, customer relations! Providing our rates and information, and answering any questions. I am also in charge of relationships with our Customer Groups and of various statistics, and I provide assistance to the sales manager and support our regional managers. What I love the most is the versatile nature of my role’s tasks. Because I have worked here for a while, I am proficient in several areas. I’ve been at JVD since 1997 (you can do the calculation). Even when I’m on holiday at the top of Mt Blanc, after a dizzying ascent in the cable car, I can find a JVD hand dryer! So in short, I’d say competitiveness. We have a fast information flow that few companies have and that immediately makes us more efficient.

Finance Manager and HR Manager
Flora

The most interesting projects are the ones that help us advance.

My job? There are two parts to it. I guide and supervise the finance team as well as the HR section. In terms of finance, my role includes finding the right indicators to help the manager and shareholders steer the company well. In terms of HR, in addition to my staff management administration work, I also ensure that each employee is happy in their work so they can give their best. My role also enables me to have a special relationship with the subsidiaries and bring an international aspect to some assignments by working with different cultures and administrative processes depending on the country.

The most interesting projects are the ones that help us advance. I love new things, whether they are new products, new administrative procedures, or new teams being created. How can I describe JVD in one word? Fascinating! Because of its projects and its teams!

Group Purchasing Manager
Jérôme

Spreading the word about our expertise in the world market.

What is my job? Ensuring that we are supported by partners and subcontractors helping to grow JVD. First and foremost, this involves teamwork as well as close collaboration with the various departments within JVD in order to guarantee impeccable quality, control of the overall cost, and constant innovation. We constantly strive for excellence in our ability to innovate, respect environmental issues, and even proficiency in execution. Our relationships are built on trust and a mindset focused on healthy long-term relationships. The projects that interest me are those that enable us to involve our suppliers in our growth dynamic.

Purchasing was a personal choice for me because of its diverse tasks and the people you meet while spreading the word about our expertise in the world market.

So if I had to describe JVD in one word, I would say people-focused, for three reasons. Firstly, JVD is a company in human terms with strong values. Secondly, our business in the hygiene sector helps to improve people’s health. And thirdly, by considering our customers’ needs we can develop our range, including our hospitality sector products.

Customer Relations Officer
Sandrine

Being able to create that personal relationship is a good challenge for me!

I am in charge of promoting JVD’s hospitality products. My job involves creating relationships with hotel owners and others over the phone and by email. I develop and maintain those relationships. What I like most in my daily role are the personal relationships I am able to build with customers. I feel like they are sitting across the desk from me. Being able to create that personal relationship is a good challenge for me. I am like an online store, except that I guide them on how to read the catalogue using just my voice, and that’s great!

If I had to describe our company in one word? Fulfillment. Operational autonomy and freedom. In a company like JVD, we are free to express ourselves and put forward our ideas. That’s a rare thing nowadays. I enjoy coming to work and am proud to work in a Nantes company manufacturing these products.

Export Sales Administration Officer
Caroline

Directly related to Purchasing, Manufacturing and Shipping, Everyone wants me!

I take care of managing the order book and export shipments. This means I interact with our customers as well as our export salespeople for some files. Everyone wants me: purchasing, manufacture and dispatch! More seriously, a company like JVD enables easy communication between everyone in the team. There is a good atmosphere. We get along so well at work that we often enjoy after-work drinks together. It’s great! (So if you pass by the office and hear a laugh that makes you smile, it’s Caro – her hallmark is her infectious laugh!)

Area Sales Manager
Charles

Working with different cultures is extremely rewarding.

I am an Export Salesperson in the Southern Europe, Africa, Balkans, and Middle East areas. My assignments involve accessing new markets in these various countries and maintaining commercial relationships with our long-term partners. This involves many site visits. In our profession, nothing happens behind a desk. What I love the most is successfully finding new retailers and helping them build up their business. Commercial relationships are 50% personal relationships. Working with different cultures is extremely rewarding. Companies like JVD enable us to have an extremely quick decision-making circuit and a certain independence. So in short, this is a friendly-sized company with strong added value both in terms of its innovative products and its employee involvement.

Import Purchasing Officer
Florence

How can I describe JVD in one word? I’ll use two: courage and adventure!

I am an Import Purchasing Officer. I source products, negotiate with suppliers, manage supply flows, and track the quality/compliance of samples and imported products. I also analyze trends and sales peaks in order to closely manage our stock levels. What do I enjoy about my job? Negotiating and purchasing! The challenge is to successfully get the product wanted by the marketing and R&D teams with optimal quality at the right price and as quickly as possible. Here at JVD, work is rewarding. As you can see by the fact that I’ve been part of the JVD family for 31 years! Our team is a true melting pot, with experienced employees, new recruits, and young people. What do I like about a company like ours? Here we do ‘action-reaction’! Communication is quick thanks to the departments’ proximity. How can I describe JVD in one word? I’ll use two: Courage and adventure because of our desire to progress, our dynamic nature, and our visionary ambitions.

Area Sales Manager
Abel

We design and manufacture a product that you cannot find anywhere else. We are a true company.

I take care of the Northern Europe and the United Kingdom regions. Canvassing and supporting our customers and managing sales are my main tasks. I visit our customers and distributors for training sessions about our new products and specific products. I’m very interested in hospitality. There is a wonderful story to tell. Hygiene is a more technical sector. There, we guide customers according to their needs. What do I like the most about my job? Traveling! Being able to maintain special relationships with our customers over several years is a real challenge! And the blend of cultures is very educational.

What I like about companies like ours is that we design and manufacture a product that cannot be found anywhere else. We are a true company. So if I had to describe JVD in one word? Flexibility. In terms of our fast response times, a wide range of products, and customization.

Sales Administration Assistant
Sabrina

JVD? Rapidity! We always work at full throttle!

I am in charge of managing the customer order portfolio (France) for JVD. What this means is managing customer relationships, processing orders, tracking shipments and invoicing. I also take care of competitive pricing intelligence. What I love most about my job is the customer contact. I have worked at JVD for eight years and we now have special relationships with some customers. And the various departments have a close working relationship with each other. Whether in terms of manufacturing, accounting, after sales service or shipping, sales administration has direct ties to all departments. So if I had to describe JVD in one word? Quick! We always work at full throttle! (What is Sabrina’s guilty pleasure? Raspberries! In winter or in summer, you now know what to give her!)

Western Region Salesperson
Aurélien

What do I like about JVD? That we are manufacturers!

My role involves expanding the scope and reach of our JVD brand. I mostly work on the ground, visiting hotel owners, our distributors, and our electric network to train and support salespeople in our products. I also attend trade shows to promote the JVD brand. It is essential for people to discover the product and its features, as well as to touch and see it. What do I like the most in my daily routine? I never do the same things – there is no routine. Because we have a wide sector, I have a certain independence. I manage and organize my own travel. And I am in constant contact with our people on the ground!

What do I like about JVD? That we are manufacturers! If you make it, you also make the decisions. Our communication and response times are extremely fast. I also like being able to take customers on tours of our manufacturing site. Not many companies offer that. Often, people are surprised to see manual work being done and that not everything is automated, for instance when we manufacture our hand dryers.

So if you are reading my story and you haven’t seen our manufacturing process yet, I’d love to give you a tour!

Accountant
Blandine

Here, the accountant does much more than just enter numbers in boxes!

I look after the company’s French accounting. What this involves is paying and entering suppliers’ invoices, and preparing tax returns, monthly dashboards, and part of the balance sheet. What interests me the most in my role is trying to draw out the most relevant data for analysing the figures. I have contact with all departments. This gives me a comprehensive view of our business in France.

A friendly-sized company such as JVD enables me to work on various tasks. This puts me at the centre of our company’s strategy. My job is not just one repetitive task; instead, I am responsible for several files. Here, the accountant does much more than just enter numbers in boxes!

So if I had to describe JVD in one word? Innovative! We are more than just manufacturers. Having our own R&D department is very rewarding as we stay up to date about product launches and the latest innovations.

Export Sales Administration Officer
Florence

What do I love about my job? Waking up in Singapore and going to sleep in Mexico!

I take care of processing orders, shipping, and maintaining business relationships for our key accounts, hotel chains, and subsidiaries. I also provide daily support to our sales team in terms of any commercial, technical, or price information they may need. Furthermore, I am responsible for reporting on JVD’s international business.

What do I love about my job? Waking up in Singapore and going to sleep in Mexico (laughter). On a more serious note, working with different cultures, which I have done throughout my 28 years with JVD, is very rewarding. You have to adapt to how each country works. Information circulates more freely in a smaller-sized company. This means we can respond faster and deliver a high-quality service to our customers.

“Further, higher, stronger!” For me, this phrase perfectly sums up our company’s spirit.

When I see paper dispensers at my local butcher and hand dryers in a restaurant in the middle of nowhere in Corsica, I feel a touch of pride knowing that wherever you are in the world you are sure to find a JVD product!

Hygiaconnect Development Officer
François

Working in France and beyond, as Buzz Lightyear would say, on an innovative, daring project!

My role involves the upstream and downstream development of our smart product, Hygiaconnect, both in France and abroad.

What do I enjoy? The variety and depth of my work. I enjoy defining the life cycle of a product by working directly with all the JVD teams. I also like the international aspect of working in France and beyond, as Buzz Lightyear would say, on an innovative, daring project!

JVD is a friendly-sized company where everyone works with everyone. I arrived a few months ago and was lucky enough to spend a day manufacturing our products. It was wonderful to quite literally produce Made in France goods! You really feel the team spirit, like you would in a field hockey team (can you guess François’ passion?).

So, describing JVD in one word? Desire! The desire to work together, do a good job, serve the customer and make progress.

Accountant and HR Assistant
Soizick

What I love about my role is that it spans multiple departments.

How can I sum up my role? I have lived surrounded by numbers for 15 years (laughter)! It’s true, I cannot deny it! One of my main jobs is to manage the cash flow, which is the company’s heartbeat. Rigorously tracking customers’ accounts and implementing debt recovery systems enables us to meet our financial commitments: paying suppliers, employees, taxes and social security contributions. I also help prepare the annual report.

My other role involves the daily management of staff, namely by preparing wages, training and mandatory declarations.
What I love about my role is that it spans multiple departments. There’s a whole dynamic to switching from administrative management to communicating with our customers and service providers, and even working with all our in-house departments! I have to adapt to a constantly evolving company structure, which means my role continues to have a strong focus on people. JVD has an extensive reach: even on holiday we often think of the company when we use JVD products sold to our customers!

Incoming Goods and Warehouse Officer
PEDRO

JVD in one word? Welcoming!

I started as a temp in the manufacturing department. Today, I manage the entire incoming goods process! I receive and inspect the parcels which I then send to the QA team for verification. I then store the goods in the warehouse.
What do I enjoy? Never staying still. I have to move around otherwise I get bored. And it’s great seeing lots of people! I am in direct contact with the carriers as well as the purchasing team and other JVD departments. I originally come from the Congo and have been in France since 2012. As they say, in the beginning, it is never easy. But I understand what people say and they understand me, which is the most important thing!
JVD in one word? Welcoming! That is what I liked from the start. You spend more time at work than at home so it’s important to have a good atmosphere.

France Sales Manager
Gilles

Ambition with a capital A.

My role involves growing our business in France in the hygiene and hospitality sectors. I manage the France sales team of 10 staff. This involves a lot of travel but it is important to maintain contact with our customers. In fact, it is essential in order to gather feedback on the ground, listen to their needs, and deliver an improved range to the market. JVD’s two business sectors are quite different. Hygiene is a sector that has a lot of room for innovation, namely with the introduction of Smart Cleaning. And for hospitality, design and aesthetic aspects are more important and help create a memorable ambiance. But working for JVD is also seeing my 7-year old daughter coming back from the restaurant toilets in excitement saying, “Dad, you have to come to see, it’s JVD!” Haha.

What do I like about a company like ours? Our employee involvement and our quick response times. Everyone involved in JVD is extremely professional. So how can I describe JVD in one word? Ambition. With a capital A. In terms of skills, development, and innovation.
